Welcome to Heat Smart Otsego

Heat Smart Otsego is a community-based clean heating and cooling initiative to help residents and businesses lower their energy bills, improve comfort, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Similar to the Solarize campaigns held across NY State since 2012, Heat Smart Otsego is a grassroots program designed to help local building owners learn more about clean heating and cooling options.

Heat Smart Otsego is a win-win-win for everyone involved

  • Residents and businesses get access to special, limited-time discounts on energy-saving clean heating and cooling technologies that enhance comfort year-round, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and can lower energy costs.
  • Otsego County reduces community greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to local and state goals
  • Installing clean heating and cooling will support the New York state economy and can give you the opportunity to use locally-sourced and renewable fuels to heat your home, instead of sending 90% of your heating dollars out-of-state and overseas.
